© 2003 Brian K. Holman, |
Brian was born and raised in the small farming community of Delta located in West Central Utah. He grew up helping his grandfather and his father in their farming and ranching business. He also raised sheep, pigs, and cattle of his own for the Annual 4-H-sponsored Live Stock Show. It is with funds from selling a cow at the Live Stock Show that he purchased his first computer at the age of twelve. This started a life-long passion for computers and technology. At the age of fourteen, Brian was writing business and accounting software for local businesses and before long was selling PC-compatible computers assembled from parts. He also managed the local Radio Shack Franchise. As a young man, Brian was also heavily involved with the Boy Scouts of America and its service arm, the Order of the Arrow. He is an Eagle Scout and a Vigil Honor. He also served in various council-level Order of the Arrow positions including Lodge Chief. In high school, Brian graduated in the top 10 of his class and was a regional finalist as a Sterling Scholar in the area of Business. He also represented the State of Utah in a National Computer Competition sponsored by the Future Business Leaders of America. Brian received a scholarship to attend Brigham Young University. He attended BYU for one year prior to serving a two-year mission in Northern England for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Brian and Julie are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Brian is currently serving as a counselor in a Bishopric and Julie is involved in the Cub Scouting program. Brian enjoys collecting rare and finely crafted books as well as vintage computer equipment. He also enjoys model railroading as a hobby. Favorite family hobbies include biking and RV camping. The Provo River Parkway Trail is behind the Holman's home and makes for a nice family bike ride to Utah Lake.
